"babymoon" in traverse city, mi.

we like to consider this our "babymoon"--our last trip just the two of us.  this is where we were supposed to run our marathon.  the hotel was booked, so we made a little vacation out of this.  what a beautiful city!

my first mother's day! and the easiest one i will ever have, so i was told.  :)  i loved sharing the day with my incredible mother and celebrating it with my wonderful father, as well as the best daddy-to-be.  (i have to admit, it was pretty fun being able to take the little gifts handed out to mothers after the church service too.)  :)

crib for our bedroom--romin family crib passed down to us.  i made mattress pads for the tiny mattress and am currently in the process of making sheets too, as it is too old to be a standard mattress size!

how we told our parents

at the time we were training for the bayshore marathon in traverse city, mi. i asked steve and dino if they wanted to see the design for the shirt i would wear to run in; i unzipped my sweatshirt to reveal the news. we continued to train for the marathon, until the following doctor's visit, when we were told that i would be too far along to safely run it.  disappointed at first, i quickly realized it was completely worth it!

then we met up with joe and janell in ft. wayne for a casual dinner.  after we placed our orders, we handed them each a gift to open.  as captured in the picture, they were thrilled at our news.
